Hello everyone,
I have not communicated with you in a long while. I will mostly blog via my website.
A few months ago, I heard a ruckus on my Elm tree. I saw an Eagle with about 40 + Crows above it. The Crows were all screaming at me as if waiting for a response. Finally, I wept and told them I was sorry for how we humans have been treating the planet. As soon as I said sorry, the Eagle flew down very close to where I stood, then flew up towards the heavens with all the crows behind it.
I soon made a decision to keep my life simple. I am spending this year not doing any events so that I can be guided to see what my greater purpose for this Universe is.
I used this extended time to think about what impact my business & my home was having on the planet. I watched many documentaries on the state of the planet with plastic, toxins & more. Depressing as it is, I knew I had try to make a difference.
From January to March 2021, I got rid of almost all the plastic in my home and business environment. I found local businesses that refilled my cheese, meats, etc in my own glass containers. I got rid of my garbage bin. The city still insists on charging me the garbage fee on my property taxes.
I decided to downsize my business and discontinue my cooking spice line, the larger 40 Cup size bags (Bombay Masala, Rooibos Masala, Tummy tea, Fennel & Peach). Please place your orders soon. (Please limit to 4 of each type of tea per order)
My tea & spice packaging as always is oxo biodegradable. I found a family run tea estate in Assam, that is willing to ship my Assam tea in paper sacks, wrapped in burlap for shipping! This estate also has schools and hospitals on site for their workers and their families.
Over the years, big corporations kept emailing & luring me into giving them money to sell large online stores. I was also spending $1000’s of dollars in show fees, air fares, free shipping, brokers, credit card fees and more. That is a lot of tea I needed to sell to make a profit! I was barely breaking even and working over 15 hours a day at events.
My cooking spices were produced with the utmost precision and care by me. Oven roasted in small batches. I had bad allergies to the dust for years, that was impacting my breathing. I had to travel around Canada & the United States where my spices sold out very quickly. The local Vancouver economy could not sustain these spices. It was not worth it for me to continue the spice production.
Life is good! My family is healthy. I take care of my mum too who lives with me. In the midst of the current global situation, I have managed to get mum off her various pills with good food, meditation & exercise. I took her away for a holiday where we had no internet or phone service but were surrounded by mountains, forests, lakes and waterfalls. I will always be grateful to be living here in British Columbia.
I leave you with this. Remember to say Please, Thank you and Sorry to those around you. Do not make assumptions. Forgive yourself and others. When you know better you do better. Sometimes it is better to let another person win an argument & be silent. Always take the High Ground.
Thank you very much for all your love & support over the past 13 years.
My love and blessings to all of you,
"Start somewhere but start. Love yourself. Spread that light to others. It’s contagious."
Hugs,
Trudy Ann
