I got this delicious tea at the OOAK Show Toronto. I had bought so many of Trudy’s amazing teas, I had forgotten about this one for a while. Well…fast forward to a pandemic and I brought the bag of this in and on a particularly rough shift at the hospital, I made a pot of this for all of the clinical staff on our floor. WHAT A WARM HUG AT A TIME WHEN WE CANNOT EMBRACE (especially when we need it most). Bless you, Trudy. Your tea gave us a moment of much needed calm and warmth. Thank you so much.

Thank you so much Eve. I would love to send you some more tea from me to share with the staff. It does just that for me, always a HUG. Hugs back and THANK YOU xoxo

I got to meet folks from this company at the San Francisco International Tea Festival in 2019, and I ended up walking away with a package of this chai because it’s one of the most unique ones I’ve ever tried.

The Saffron gives the spices in this tea a sweet richness that is incredibly luxurious and buttery. It’s really incredible.

Thank you so much! I hope to return to the SF tea festival again. It is my current favourite. Check out my saffron popsicle recipe.

  3. Jen

This is my favorite spiced chai ever. It is warm (just a bit spicy!), silky and rich as others have noted… incredible and unique. The base assam stands on its own under and infused with all of the other flavors. When I make Indian-style spiced chai myself, I usually avoid cloves or fennel because I don’t like them much. And I use a heavy hand with cardamom and ginger because those are my favorites! Trudy’s blend with the saffron and turmeric just take my favorite version over the top. It is truly a treat. I like it unsweetened with half and half, but slightly sweetened without milk is how I tried it at the NW Tea Festival last fall–and that is when I first fell in love with it. It’s probably good most ways and hard to ruin! :)

You are so kind Jen. I lately have drunk it by adding Coconut butter and crushed nuts to it! In Kashmir they have it sometimes with pink salt and butter. I like both versions!

  4. Jocelyn

This is my favourite chai! I tried it at one of the Vancouver Tea Festivals years ago and went halfsies with a friend on a bag, but bought my own bag to replenish at the next Tea Festivals. I usually buy my tea at the Tea Festival, but during COVID, I have ordered from Trudy Ann’s website. I’ve also sent smaller jars of this chai to others as gifts and they’ve all loved it. I am spoiled for any other chai now as nothing else compares!
