Rooibos tea, also known as red tea or red bush tea is grown in South Africa and is popularly known for its health benefits. Rooibos Masala Chai is a punchy herbal tea and is brewed with aromatic blends of organic Indian spices like cinnamon, cardamom, pepper, cloves and ginger. It also makes an incredible cup of iced tea in the summer. Rooibos Masala Chai, being naturally caffeine-free can be a perfect alternative to black teas and green teas. This relaxing and calming tea contains no oxalic acid and hence can be consumed by people suffering from kidney problems. It is also a really good digestive blend. Being low in tannin, Rooibos Masala Chai will not go bitter if brewed longer. For an additional chai treat, try my Rooibos Masala Chai with full-fat cream. An interesting fact about Rooibos Tea:
The narrow belt along the West Coast of South Africa is the only place in the world where Rooibos tea grows. It is also one of the world’s six Plant Kingdoms. The Mediterranean climate along with ideal temperatures and adequate rainfall and sunshine makes it favourable for Rooibos to be cultivated. Besides this, the sandy slopes and pleasant valleys of the Cedarberg Mountain Range also provide the perfect habitat for Rooibos cultivation.
